Experience an unforgettable evening of global music with River Guerguerian and Chris Rosser of Free Planet Radio — a duo celebrated for blending world traditions with the improvisatory spirit of jazz and the elegance of classical music.
Since 2001, Free Planet Radio has captivated audiences with original compositions that seamlessly weave Middle Eastern, Indian, and North African rhythms and modes into rich Western harmonies. Their performances balance intricate melodies and complex time signatures with openness, spontaneity, and a deep connection to listeners.
Founders River Guerguerian and Chris Rosser bring extraordinary range to the stage: River performs on an extensive palette of global percussion — from Middle Eastern frame drums to Indian kanjira and African djembe — while Chris shapes the ensemble’s melodic voice through Turkish oud, 17-stringed Indian dotar, guitar, piano, and melodica.
They have collaborated with celebrated artists including Lizz Wright, Robert Bly, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Rhonda Larson, and Mariam Matossian; received a prestigious Chamber Music America commission; and embarked on a 20-city tour across China’s premier concert halls.
