Carrera Stamile, 18, is a classical mandolinist located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She has performed in a variety of settings including chamber, orchestra, solo, small ensemble, and church services; and is working on pursuing her career as a professional performing artist.

From 2021- 2025, Carrera performed multiple solo and collaborative recitals and has gone on to enter several competitions: local, state, national, and international. Carrera made her first orchestral debut with the Piedmont Chamber Orchestra at age 16. She has gone on to perform with Foothills Philharmonic (2023), Spartanburg Youth Orchestra (2024), and most recently with the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra as a soloist performing Vivaldi’s “Winter” in the Mandolin Seasons concert at the 2024 URI Guitar and Mandolin Festival, featuring works by Vivaldi and Piazzolla. In 2023, Carrera was chosen for the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award, performing the following year as a soloist on NPR radio’s From the Top on show #429. She has competed in the Charleston International Baroque Music Competition (1st prize) and most recently the SC Bach Student Competition (1st prize).

In August of 2024, Carrera was invited to play for “Bach in Style,” a concert sponsored by Lakeside Artist Guild in Cedar Lake, Indiana. She has also participated in the following music festivals and workshops: Unconventional Bach in Vancouver, Canada (2024); University of Rhode Island Guitar and Mandolin Festival (2023, 2024); Masterworks Festival (2022, 2023, 2025); and DeCoda Chamber Music Festival (2025). In January of 2025, Carrera was a soloist with Young Artist Performances in Hilton Head, SC, where she performed a series of three solo concerts with accompanist Keru Zhang Fleetwood. In 2025, Carrera is performing three solo concerts with SC Bach Society and another with Sigal Music Museum in Greenville, SC.

Over the years, Carrera has had the privilege of working with several esteemed mandolinists including Caterina Lichtenberg, Alon Sariel, Dor Amran, Ekaterina Skliar, and Jacob Reuven – whom she is currently working with as her primary professor in mandolin.

Carrera is actively working towards her performing career as a professional classical mandolinist. She is currently pursuing a BM in Classical Mandolin Performance at Converse University and is under the instruction of Dr. Courtney LeBauer and Jacob Reuven (Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance). She is playing a double-top mandolin built by Carlo Mazzaccara in Modena, Italy. In the future Carrera plans to study classical mandolin at the highest level she is able, helping to acquaint America better with the classical side of the mandolin. This mission fuels her study, as well as her intense love for music and the mandolin.
