Early Music America Magazine Profiles Carolina Music Museum
Anne Acker, a member of the museum’s Advisory Board, wrote the beautiful article below about the Carolina Music Museum for Early Music America magazine and as she is a world renowned historian and restorer of early keyboards she brings this informed and passionate perspective to her writings. “Obsessed with pianos from an early age, yet dissatisfied with trying to find something in the baroque, classical, and romantic era music that the modern piano was not supplying, she trained as a concert pianist, but then went on to gather degrees in mathematics and computer science. She was a National Science Foundation and Bell Laboratories Fellow at Stanford University for her doctoral research.” (From her Bio on her very rich and informative website: www.annesharpsichords.com)
